Agistri

Agistri, fifteen minutes by fast boat from Egina, is a tiny island, that belongs to Argosaronic complex. Capital of the island is Megalohori(Milos). It has 11,693km2 and 1.120 residents. There's a small non attractive strip of development on the North coast facing Egina, but the rest of the island is very beautiful, pine-covered, with a very few beaches. The island has four villages: Megalochori or Milos (island country), Skala (the physical port where close to the ferry boat from Piraeus / Egina), Limenaria and Metohi. The island has daily ferry connections with Piraeus. The trip by ferry boat is 2 hours while "flying dolphin" 55 minutes.




Beaches

Skala
Skala is Agistri's main tourist centre. Its a sandy and shallow tourist beach on the North side of the island. There is also the natural harbor. On the beach of Skala are hotelS, restaurants and cafes.

The sandy beach in the village Megalochori or Milos ( island capital in the north).

Dragonera
Pebbly beach on the Western side of the island easily accessible by road. This beach is surrounded by pine forest and on the left there is an outdoor canteen.

Marisa
Beach-rock on the sea, ideal for diving, located West of the island, in the village Limenaria.

Shallow beach between the private island of Aponisos and Agistri.

Transportation
By ferry: There are ferries and hydrofoils to and from Pireas via Egina. Ferries dock at Skala(twice daily in the week, three from Fri-Sun, 25min/1hr30min)
Getting Around
By bus: In summer, the island connects Skala and Mylos with Dragonera, Limenaria and Aponissos several times a day. The day's timetable is chalked up at its staring point, outside the church in Skala.
